Quarter 3 Reflection

The third quarter proved to be both difficult and significant for my development as a student. I face lessons in this quarter which demand from me deeper understanding and improved time management and higher dedication than my earlier school periods required. My initial challenge with managing school tasks and meeting deadlines became easier for me when I gained expertise in organizing my work while maintaining concentration on my obligations. The experiences I went through increased my self-control as well as my sense of responsibility toward academic commitments.

This period provided me with an opportunity to acquire essential abilities which included critical thinking and communication and collaboration skills. Through writing reflections and completing research tasks and working on group projects, I developed the ability to communicate my thoughts effectively while also understanding what others had to say. The tough lessons I encountered made me study harder while teaching me to ask questions whenever I encountered difficulty understanding. The result of this experience enabled me to trust my capabilities while understanding that knowledge acquisition happens throughout life.

I obtained critical academic knowledge during Quarter 3 which also resulted in essential personal development. The experience taught me that people need three things to succeed which are perseverance and patience and a positive attitude. My study habits should improve with active class participation because I want to become a better student and better person before entering the next quarter.

A Nation Without Memory has No Future

The citizens of the Philippines recognize Jose Rizal as their national icon since he educated Filipinos about their heritage instead of commanding military forces or holding governmental authority. His greatest contribution to Philippine society was his use of intellect and writing to inspire national consciousness. Rizal selected the pen as his instrument of battle because he believed that education and awareness served as the ultimate defenses against all forms of injustice during the period when most people remained silent due to oppression and fear.

Through his novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, Rizal exposed the abuses of Spanish colonizers and corrupt friars. The works demonstrated how ordinary Filipinos experienced pain and showed how the existing system prevented them from achieving their true potential. By showing real social conditions to the public, Rizal enabled Filipinos to realize their actual situation while demonstrating that they possessed the right to receive equal treatment and free existence.     Rizal's essays and poems together with his letters promoted peaceful reform which stopped violent revolution from happening. He encouraged Filipinos to value education, discipline, and love for country. His ideas helped shape a generation of thinkers and leaders who later fought for independence, proving that lasting change begins with informed citizens.
Rizal achieved greater influence through his martyrdom. The execution of Rizal failed to eliminate his message because it created unity among Filipinos which boosted their battle for freedom. The primary impact of Rizal's work on Filipino identity development exists because he taught the nation to think critically while loving their country and fighting for justice and freedom.

Weaving Culture, Enriching Future: Empowering Indigenous Communities as Bedrock of Sustainable Development

The observance of the Philippines' National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month underscores the necessity of acknowledging and valuing the indigenous peoples' rich cultures, customs, and contributions. The event serves to remind the natives that the Indigenous People are a major segment of the country's identity and history. Their knowledge, morals, and lifestyles have been handed down from one generation to another and are still influencing the modern-day practices that are eco-friendly.

The slogan "Weaving Culture, Enriching Future" points out the reason why keeping indigenous culture alive leads to a more open-minded and, hence, a more sustainable future. The indigenous people have been the mainstay of environmental conservation, and it has always been their practice to exploit the resources and utilize the land in a way that the nature thrives. They are the ones that know the land the best, and when their traditional skills are recognized and protected, they become the active players in promoting biodiversity, climate resilience, and sustainable development.

It is not just about the Indigenous People's empowerment, it is also about the equal opportunities, the protection of their land and the securing of their participation in the making of the decisions concerning the matter. When the native tribes are able to enjoy such support, they will not only be the marginalized people but rather the strong partner in the progress of the country. Their rights will be a contributor to social justice and solidarity.

In a nutshell, National IP Month is a reminder that modernity should not erase culture. The Philippines can advance by recognizing and empowering Indigenous Peoples, thereby allowing its diverse heritage to continue to thrive and a future characterized by respect, sustainability, and shared responsibility to be built.

Celebration of Christmas season in it's essence

The Christmas season is a period that is not only about decorations, gifts, and parties. Christmas in its purest form signifies love, hope, and faith. It is the time of year that makes people ponder over the significance of the virtues like kindness, forgiveness, and gratitude. While the holiday season is quite bustling, Christmas teaches us to cherish the quality time we spend with our loved ones instead of the material goods we acquire.

Among the various things that Christmas brings, family togetherness is one of the most prominent. Families come together to observe customs like, decorating the house, feasting, and going to Christmas Mass. The relations are not only built but also, memories that last a lifetime are created through these practices. To be with people you care about is what the real joy of the season is.

Christmas also promotes the idea of giving and showing love. For that reason, a lot of people take this time of year to support those less fortunate through the distribution of gifts, volunteer work, and simple nice things done for others. These deeds are the very essence of the giving that the Christmas story of Jesus inspires—reminding us all to offer some of our blessings to the less fortunate.

Christmas in its reality is about promising love and hope to people. If it is a real Christmas, it is then a season of unity, faith, and goodwill that can be experienced all over the year.

Insight on President Elpidio Quirino: His Early Life, Career, and Achievements

President Elpidio Quirino, the sixth President of the Philippines, lived a life shaped by hardship, perseverance, and public service. Born on November 16, 1890, in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, he grew up in amodest family and worked hard to pursue education. His early life taught him discipline andresilience—traits that would define his leadership in the years to come.

Before becoming president, Quirino built a strong career in government. He served as a teacher, a
lawyer, and later as a member of the Philippine House of Representatives and the Senate. He also
became part of the Philippine Independence Mission, contributing to the Tydings–McDuffie Act that
paved the way for Philippine independence. His dedication to public service eventually led him to
become Vice President and, after the death of Manuel Roxas, President in 1948.

Quirino’s presidency focused on post-war reconstruction, economic recovery, and national stability.
Despite the challenges left by World War II, he implemented housing programs, strengthened foreign
relations, and supported industrialization. One of his notable achievements was rebuilding diplomatic
ties and improving international reputation. He also initiated reforms that strengthened the Philippine
military and police forces.

President Quirino’s legacy reminds us of resilience and service. His leadership during a difficult era
helped rebuild the nation and set foundations for future progress. Though often underrated, his
contributions remain essential in understanding Philippine post-war history.

OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!”

(End Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials: Fight for the Safety and Rights of Children!)

The 2025 National Children’s Month highlights one of the most urgent fights today: ending Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and stopping the spread of Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM). With technology becoming part of everyday life, children are more exposed to online risks—making this theme not just relevant, but absolutely necessary. It reminds us that every child deserves to grow in a world where their safety, dignity, and innocence are fully protected.

The government has strengthened its actions through laws like the Anti-OSAEC and Anti-CSAEM Act of 2022 (RA 11930), which increases penalties for offenders and requires online platforms to cooperate with authorities. Programs led by the DSWD, DICT, and PNP-WCPC also focus on awareness campaigns, digital literacy, and community protection. These steps show that the government is moving forward, but the challenge remains huge—technology evolves fast, and criminals adapt even faster. Still, it’s reassuring to see that efforts to protect children are becoming more aggressive and coordinated.

However, government work alone won’t be enough. Communities, parents, schools, and online platforms must play active roles in making the internet safer. Protecting children’s rights means creating an environment where abuse is never tolerated, where children understand digital risks, and where adults are ready to intervene. The theme serves as a call to action: if we want children to grow safely and freely, everyone must help in this fight.

In the end, the message of this year's celebration is clear—children’s rights are non-negotiable. Ending OSAEC and CSAEM is not just the responsibility of a few; it is a collective duty. When children grow in a space where their dignity and safety are safeguarded, the whole society flourishes.

Thematic q2

Santa Catalina in Ilocos Sur is a city that maintains the balance between enduring history, traditional life, and natural beauty The city's identity revolves around three main elements: the faith center, the lucrative beaches, and the successful Puesta del Sol Hotel & Resort, which work together to define its unique character as a destination.

The first pillar of Santa Catalina is the faith, led by Santa Catalina de Alexandria Parish Church This Church is not just an architectural structure with history; it is the very center of the town's spiritual and cultural life, named after its patron, Saint Catherine of Alexandria The parish, founded in 1795, exhibits a long-standing devotion of residents and serves as an important landmark that solidifies the community's foundation amidst change Its proximity to the center of town proves that the Church becomes a direction and inspiration in everyday life for Illokans

The second pillar is the Sta. Catalina Beach or the Coast, which serves as a municipal economic lifeline This beach is known for its wide and quiet terrain, with a sandy to black color The coast is an important driver of the economy because traditional fishing and agriculture are concentrated here Much of the development of coastal tourism is led by Puesta del Sol Hotel & Resort, which has given a new face to the area This resort offers facilities such as large swimming pools and activity areas (such as volleyball and billiards) that attract families, tourists from Vigan, and even foreigners It shows the link between coastal tradition and modern entertainment, works for you in the community

The popularity of Puesta del Sol is tied to its location facing the West Philippine Sea In the afternoon, the resort becomes a perfect venue to experience rare sunsets or festivals, offering a dramatic palette of colors in the sky This unique reflection, mirrored by the sea and resort facilities, becomes a symbol of each day's end The combination of the historic Church, the Sea as a source of life, and the Puesta del Sol Resort as a center for tourism and entertainment forms the complete beauty and depth of Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur.

2nd quarter

As the 2nd quarter of Grade 10 comes to an end, I realize how much I have grown both academically and personally. This quarter was filled with lessons that challenged my understanding and pushed me to work harder. There were times when the workload felt overwhelming, but these challenges helped me develop better study habits, time management, and discipline. I learned to balance my responsibilities while still finding time to rest and reflect.

Throughout this quarter, I gained deeper knowledge in different subjects, especially in areas that once seemed difficult. I became more confident in expressing my ideas during discussions and learned to cooperate better with my classmates during group activities. Each project and assessment taught me the importance of teamwork, patience, and determination. My teachers’ support and guidance also played a big role in helping me stay motivated and focused.

Looking back, I am proud of the progress I have made. There are still areas I need to improve, but I now understand that learning is a continuous process. The 2nd quarter taught me to be more responsible, resilient, and open-minded. As I move forward to the next quarter, I will continue to give my best, learn from my mistakes, and strive for excellence not just in academics but also in character.

Teachers month

Teachers are often called the unsung heroes of society because of their tireless dedication to shaping young minds. The 2025 Teacher’s Month Celebration, with the theme “My Teacher, My Hero,” reminds us how teachers go beyond teaching lessons—they inspire, guide, and help students build their dreams. This theme highlights the noble role teachers play in transforming lives and building a better nation through education.

I believe teachers are real heroes because they sacrifice time, energy, and even personal comfort to make sure their students learn and grow. They stay up late preparing lessons, checking papers, and thinking of creative ways to make learning meaningful. In every classroom, they plant seeds of wisdom, patience, and hope that will one day grow into the success of their students. Their influence does not stop at the school gate—it continues throughout our lives.

To show my gratitude and respect for my teachers, I express it through simple but meaningful gestures. I listen carefully during their lessons, follow their guidance, and do my best in my studies. I also make an effort to thank them personally, write letters of appreciation, or help them whenever possible. These small acts of kindness may not equal their sacrifices, but they show how deeply I value their hard work and dedication.

Teachers truly are the foundation of every profession and the guiding light of every learner. Without their love for teaching and commitment to helping others, many of us would not reach our goals. The 2025 Teacher’s Month Celebration reminds me to always be thankful for my teachers—not just this month, but every day of my life.

Science Month

The theme “Harnessing the Unknown” is suitable for our times: science is no longer just about explaining what’s already been observed, but about venturing into the unpredictable, pushing boundaries, and turning uncertainty into possibility. In the coming decades, many of the greatest challenges we face—climate change, emerging diseases, resource scarcity, social inequalities—will require not only application of known scientific knowledge but also bold leaps into new territory. Innovation becomes the bridge between the unknown and tangible change.

The interplay between science and society will intensify. Society will demand more from science: not just in terms of new gadgets or cures, but in ethical direction, sustainability, and justice. Scientists will have to engage more with communities, policy makers, and even cultural sectors to ensure that innovations align with human needs, moral constraints, and long-term welfare. Conversely, societal values and needs will increasingly steer scientific agendas: research won’t be purely curiosity-driven in isolation, but co-shaped by public priorities (health equity, resilience, ecological balance).

In the Philippine context, the theme resonates strongly with national aspirations. The Department of Education (DepEd) already formalized the 2025 National Science Month Celebration with that very theme.  But our country still grapples with gaps in research funding, limited innovation capacity, and uneven access to scientific education.  For our society to truly “power the future through science and innovation,” we must decentralize science opportunities beyond major cities, strengthen local research ecosystems, and foster collaborative networks between universities, industry, government, and communities.

Over the next decades, science and innovation must become more democratic, transparent, and integrated into daily life. Citizens should not passively consume technology—they should have a stake in its design, oversight, and consequences. In that sense, “harnessing the unknown” is not a one-way act: it demands humility, dialogue, and shared responsibility. If we can pull that off—if science becomes both daring in discovery and anchored in social purpose—then the 2025 theme might not just be rhetoric, but a direction we’ll look back on, grateful we chose to walk it.
