Thematic q2

Santa Catalina in Ilocos Sur is a city that maintains the balance between enduring history, traditional life, and natural beauty The city's identity revolves around three main elements: the faith center, the lucrative beaches, and the successful Puesta del Sol Hotel & Resort, which work together to define its unique character as a destination.

The first pillar of Santa Catalina is the faith, led by Santa Catalina de Alexandria Parish Church This Church is not just an architectural structure with history; it is the very center of the town's spiritual and cultural life, named after its patron, Saint Catherine of Alexandria The parish, founded in 1795, exhibits a long-standing devotion of residents and serves as an important landmark that solidifies the community's foundation amidst change Its proximity to the center of town proves that the Church becomes a direction and inspiration in everyday life for Illokans

The second pillar is the Sta. Catalina Beach or the Coast, which serves as a municipal economic lifeline This beach is known for its wide and quiet terrain, with a sandy to black color The coast is an important driver of the economy because traditional fishing and agriculture are concentrated here Much of the development of coastal tourism is led by Puesta del Sol Hotel & Resort, which has given a new face to the area This resort offers facilities such as large swimming pools and activity areas (such as volleyball and billiards) that attract families, tourists from Vigan, and even foreigners It shows the link between coastal tradition and modern entertainment, works for you in the community

The popularity of Puesta del Sol is tied to its location facing the West Philippine Sea In the afternoon, the resort becomes a perfect venue to experience rare sunsets or festivals, offering a dramatic palette of colors in the sky This unique reflection, mirrored by the sea and resort facilities, becomes a symbol of each day's end The combination of the historic Church, the Sea as a source of life, and the Puesta del Sol Resort as a center for tourism and entertainment forms the complete beauty and depth of Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur.

2nd quarter

As the 2nd quarter of Grade 10 comes to an end, I realize how much I have grown both academically and personally. This quarter was filled with lessons that challenged my understanding and pushed me to work harder. There were times when the workload felt overwhelming, but these challenges helped me develop better study habits, time management, and discipline. I learned to balance my responsibilities while still finding time to rest and reflect.

Throughout this quarter, I gained deeper knowledge in different subjects, especially in areas that once seemed difficult. I became more confident in expressing my ideas during discussions and learned to cooperate better with my classmates during group activities. Each project and assessment taught me the importance of teamwork, patience, and determination. My teachers’ support and guidance also played a big role in helping me stay motivated and focused.

Looking back, I am proud of the progress I have made. There are still areas I need to improve, but I now understand that learning is a continuous process. The 2nd quarter taught me to be more responsible, resilient, and open-minded. As I move forward to the next quarter, I will continue to give my best, learn from my mistakes, and strive for excellence not just in academics but also in character.

Teachers month

Teachers are often called the unsung heroes of society because of their tireless dedication to shaping young minds. The 2025 Teacher’s Month Celebration, with the theme “My Teacher, My Hero,” reminds us how teachers go beyond teaching lessons—they inspire, guide, and help students build their dreams. This theme highlights the noble role teachers play in transforming lives and building a better nation through education.

I believe teachers are real heroes because they sacrifice time, energy, and even personal comfort to make sure their students learn and grow. They stay up late preparing lessons, checking papers, and thinking of creative ways to make learning meaningful. In every classroom, they plant seeds of wisdom, patience, and hope that will one day grow into the success of their students. Their influence does not stop at the school gate—it continues throughout our lives.

To show my gratitude and respect for my teachers, I express it through simple but meaningful gestures. I listen carefully during their lessons, follow their guidance, and do my best in my studies. I also make an effort to thank them personally, write letters of appreciation, or help them whenever possible. These small acts of kindness may not equal their sacrifices, but they show how deeply I value their hard work and dedication.

Teachers truly are the foundation of every profession and the guiding light of every learner. Without their love for teaching and commitment to helping others, many of us would not reach our goals. The 2025 Teacher’s Month Celebration reminds me to always be thankful for my teachers—not just this month, but every day of my life.
